MMA-Republic Middleweight Rankings (EFC Top 5)

Rankings always seem to be a hot topic when it comes to matchmaking in MMA. Although there is no science to these rankings, we thought it would be fun to map out the divisions in the EFC to try and establish who is in the conversation and who is not.
Important to note, we base these rankings on people that are clearly active in the EFC, not on Hiatus or retired. Things considered would be win streaks, finish rates, opponents beat and so on.
Champion – Dricus Du Plessis
- Reinier De Ridder (9-0)
- Torbjorn Madsen (5-0)
- Ibrahima Mane (7-1)
- Brendan Lesar (2-0)
- Warren Allison (7-5)
The middleweight division has a mass of fighters on its books but sadly a pile of them are inactive for whatever reason, Making the rankings extremely difficult. Currently inactive or athletes that we are unsure when we will see them in the EFC again include, Cameron Meinjties, Yannick Bahati, Rafal Haratyk and most of the listed fighters from the First season of The fighter. Thus leaving my current top 5 . De Ridder arrived here at EFC67 like a ghost , dominated Warren Allison, called for the belt and disappeared again. there is no doubting his massive talent and in my mind without a doubt the number one contender of this division. Torbjorn Madsen is basicaly in SA to study but that didn’t stop him from dismantling Bruno Mukulu on Debut, with an impressive 5-0 record he is certainly in the mix as a top contender. Mane has only suffered defeat to Brendan Lesar in what was a massively close fight, I still feel a rematch should be on the cards to settle the score and perhaps the rankings. Lesar is only 2-0 and as a pro but showed his toughness and grittiness in The Fighter. He is most certainly in the conversation at Middleweight. Warren Allison looked to be set for a massive resurgence only to be halted by the man at the top of these rankings but is still a top contender in the division.
