EFC73 Set to thrill in Sun city.

Africa’s biggest MMA promotion will make its annual return to the the North West Province of South Africa on 08 September 2018. A new Champion will be crowned, heavyweight contenders have a chance to prove their worth and a chance at redemption tell the story of the main card for EFC73.
The card has seen some last minute changes including the withdrawal of highly talented wrestling phenom Roedie Roets which has resulted a=in his intended opponent Pierre Botha getting a new opponent in the form of Tshilumba Mikixi and moving to the prelims.The replacement bout will be between Steven Goncalves and Sizwe Mnikhati.

SUN CITY THE SCENE FOR EFC FIGHT NIGHT #73
A new EFC champion will be crowned at Sun City on 8 September when undefeated, Gunther “The Beast” Kalunda of the DRC faces Brazilian Jose “Dedinho” Da Rocha for the interim EFC Welterweight championship of the world.
Both fighters have yet to meet and the match-up brings the 31 year old Kinshasa-born Kalunda’s undefeated record of four pro wins up against the powerful, experienced Da Rocha (30) whose 13 career fights to date reveal nine wins over four losses.
“Kalunda is a very strong fighter whose world class judo discipline makes him extremely dangerous while Jose’s strengths in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu may give him the upper hand on the ground. It’s going to be an epic battle.” says EFC President Cairo Howarth.
The other headlining bout on the EFC 73 fight card is the heavyweight battle between African boxing champion, Zimbabwe’s Elvis Moyo, and MMA powerhouse, Jared “The Mountain” Vanderaa from the USA which will see two of the organisation’s most powerful fighters collide in a bruising encounter.
Known for his strength and endurance, Moyo brings a career of seven wins over five losses to the Hexagon while Californian, Vanderaa’s record reveals 6 wins over 3 losses in his EFC career to date.
