Chad hanekom will make his third appearance with Brave Combat Federation at Brave 16 marking the most number of appearances with the promotion for a South African fighter. The Middleweight who trains under Richie Quan is returning to the promotion after a sensational first round victory at Brave 13 held at Belfast. Brave Combat Federation had recently announced that the division will soon be introduced a championship title and the outcome of the bout will be critical.
Chad Hanekom signed with Brave Combat Federation with an undefeated record to be tested by the 2017 World Combat Sambo Champion, Ikram Aliskerov in his promotional debut at Amman, Jordan during Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises. In a bout that went the distance, the South African powerhouse lost the bout to decision from the judges. Hanekom returned at Brave 13 avenging his loss with a finish which received the fight of the night bonus.
However at Brave 16, he will face yet another undefeated fighter, Leon Aliu from Italy in the main event of the under card. Aliu is undefeated with a perfect 8 fight win record with 100% finish ratio. Aliu has four knockouts and four submissions in his career which will set the bars high for Hanekom. With Brave Combat Federation announcing its 20th edition of the event to take place in South Africa, Hanekom has high hopes.
The middleweight who trains at Coach Quan University made it clear that he will not be holding back against the credentials of the Italian- Albanian, “We both have 100% finish ratios. He had gone to the fourth round once and I had gone the distance only once. In terms of experience, maturity, fight IQ, I think I can handle the situation much better than him. At one point every one has to lose and I hope to bring the championship title to South Africa one day.”
