JP Buys to Make Brave Promotional Debut at Brave 17 Pakistan

J P Buys will make his promotional debut at Brave 17 taking place on 27th October in the Nishtar Park Sports Complex in Lahore, Pakistan. Buys will compete in the bantamweight division of Brave Combat Federation. He will face Gamzat Magomedov from the KHK MMA Fight Team in his promotional debut. Magomedov is an IMMAF medalist in the division and had completed his professional debut at Brave 12 with a victory.
Buys had won multiple titles for wrestling including the African Wrestling Title, 12th Place at Wrestling World Championship and MMA Fight Stars Bantamweight Championship. He turned pro after having an undefeated amateur career with six wins. Buys captured the bantamweight championship at EFC after submitting Baldwin Mdlalose in the first round at UFC 54. He went on to successfully defend his championship in South Africa against Philippe Rouch from France after trying out in the Tuesday Night Contender Series in USA.
Buys has a professional MMA record of five wins and two losses. An African champion in amateur wrestling, Buys started being active in the sport at age of 15 before transitioning into MMA full-time. Buys has four of his five professional wins coming by way of submission – his other victory came by technical knockout. As an amateur, he also earned three of his six wins by submitting his opponents.
