Below is the press release for the announcement that undefeated two-weight KSW champ Mateusz Gamrot (15-0) returns to face Brazil’s Edimilson ‘Kevin’ Souza (18-5) in a lightweight non-title bout and also that Mariusz Pudzianowski has been forced from the card due to an undisclosed injury.
Two-Weight Champ Mateusz Gamrot Returns, Pudzianowski out injured
Two-weight KSW champion Mateusz ‘Gamer’ Gamrot (15-0) will finally, after fifteen months away, return to action at KSW 53 at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland on March 21. The featherweight & lightweight champ comes back to face Brazil’s Edimilson ‘Kevin’ Souza (18-5) in a non-title bout set for 155lbs. Souza went 3-1 in the UFC before losing a decision to Patricky Pitbull in the main event of Bellator 152. The 35-year-old enters KSW havng won his past two fights on the Brazilian scene.
This news also comes with the announcement that five time world’s strongest man Mariusz Pudzianowski has had to withdraw from KSW 53 due to an undisclosed injury and as a result Roberto Soldic (17-3) versus MMA legend Marius Zaromskis (22-9) will now be the new main event.
