An Explosive Encounter
This very exciting heavyweight bout sees two hard hitting veterans tough it out in one of the most anticipated heavyweight bouts of recent times.
Alexander Volkov comes into this matchup having won eight of his last ten bouts, most recently beating Walt Harris in October by strikes. The former M1 Global Heavyweight champion comes in as the No.6 contender in the division and will be determined to secure victory to consolidate his title credentials.
Alistair Overeem has won 11 of his last 16 bouts and comes into this on the back of two wins, over Walt Harris and Augusto Sakai, both via TKO. “The Demolition Man” is known to live up to his nickname; of his 47 career wins he has finished all but five, 25 coming by TKO and 17 coming by submission. Having been a pro since 1999, Overeem will be looking to use his experience to take control of this bout.
From Subway to Submission
This bout sees two exciting flyweight fighters that are both entering the sixth year of their professional career go head to head. Fan favourite, Molly McCann, holds a solid 10-3 record and with her opponent, Lara Procópio, having a 6-1 record this is sure to be an intense fight.
Molly “Meatball” McCann has won nine of her last 11 bouts and is looking to bounce back from her defeat to Talia Santos on Fight Island in July. She has four wins by knockout and three of her career victories have been first round finishes. Determined to get back to winning ways, expect a fast start in this one.
In her professional career thus far, Lara Procópio has one win from TKO and another two from submission in the first round. With a 5.5” arm reach advantage she will be looking to make this a weapon against her English opponent.
All American Bantamweight Bout
There is a lot to be excited about with this bout featuring two fighters in the top 5 of their weight class. Both will be looking to stamp their mark as the supreme American bantamweight fighter.
Winning eight of his last nine, five of which came by TKO, Cory Sandhagen will be confident coming into this one. At Amateur level Cory was undefeated in kickboxing and held the Amateur North American and World title. The current no.2 contender starts bouts quickly and boasts five first round finishes.
Despite being a veteran in the UFC this is only Frankie Edgar’s second bantamweight bout. He will be confident having won his debut at this weight class against Pedro Munhoz. The former Lightweight Champion defended his belt successfully three times and comes into this bout having won nine of his last 13. He has six wins by TKO, four by submission and 13 by submission, so he won’t mind fighting until the time runs out.
