Last weekend, Vegas saw thrilling main and co-main bouts put an end to an entertaining card. This week we go to Glendale, Arizona, where two titles are on the line.
Dreaming of gold
In what could be one of the fights of the year, Israel ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya will be looking to defend his middleweight title in a rematch against Marvin ‘The Italian Dream’ Vettori.
With the longest active win-streak in the division, at nine-in-a-row, Israel Adesanya is looking to avenge his first professional defeat. 15 of his 20 pro wins have come via KO, six of these being first-round finishes. Adesanya’s power and precision cannot be overstated, he boasts the third most knockdowns in middleweight history with 11 under his belt.
Hot off a five-win streak, Marvin Vettori will be Italian dreaming of revenge, having lost via split decision in his previous bout against Adesanya back in 2018. Of his 17 victories, two were via KO and nine by submission. His preferred move being the rear-naked choke, which he has executed successfully four times. He also boasts 11 first-round finishes so he will be starting with power. He is the first Italian to have a title fight so would become the first Italian to hold UFC gold with a win.
