UFC stars Conor McGregor, Michael Bisping and Joanna Jedrzejczyk, honed their skills in Cage Warriors before joining UFC’s roster. Over 90 more athletes have also taken this path.
These events are happening at prime time in the UK, all will be streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS. Details on each event are available below.
Key Themes
Unleash the beast
The finale for the first of the three Cage Warriors events this week sees Nathias ‘Notorious’ Frederick take on fellow Englishman Matthew ‘The Beast’ Bonner.
After losing his first two pro fights, Nathias Frederick has been rampant and now finds himself on a 10-bout unbeaten run (9 wins and 1 draw). He has been in devastating form, finishing all but one of those wins, and all eight finishes came by KO. He has secured two pro first-round finishes, including a KO after only 10 seconds over Ben Schneider.
Hot off the back of three consecutive wins, Matthew Bonner will be looking to snap Frederick’s unbeaten streak. He has recently shown his boxing abilities, with his last three finishes all coming via TKO by punches. The Beast has shown versatility in his career, securing three wins by KO, two via submission and four by decision.
Lightweight belt on the line
To close out Cage Warriors 124, lightweight champion Agy ‘The Wolverine’ Sardari will look to retain his belt for the second time, as he takes on Joe ‘The SBG Hunter’ McColgan.
Holding an impressive 14-2 record, Agy Sardari has been on great form, defending his belt against Donovan Desmae back in March. He has finished 10 of his 14 wins, six via submission and four by KO. He has notched up eight consecutive wins, and has yet to be finished, his only defeats coming by decision.
Looking to claim Cage Warriors gold for the first time, Joe McColgan will need to be at his best. He has won three of his last five; all three of them came by first-round finishes. In his most recent bout, he knocked out Kieran Lister and the other two finishes came by submission.
The Future is now
The final fight in this Cage Warriors Trilogy is set to be a thriller, as Jack Grant faces Ian ‘The Future’ Garry.
Jack Grant has won eight of his last 10, with seven of those being finishes. Grant holds a 17-6 record and has shown his versatility, holding eight wins via KO and eight wins by submission. He holds 14 first-round finishes, showing his eagerness to start bouts in an explosive fashion and end them quickly.
Starting a perfect 6-0 to his pro career, Ian Garry has got fans and pundits alike excited. His last five victories all came via finishes, and in his last bout he defeated Rostem Akman via an epic head kick. This fight will be a great chance for Garry to show that the hype is real as he takes on his toughest opponent yet.
